Are Lamy Safari, Vista, Al-Star an Joy parts interchangeable?

Can barrels, caps and nib sections from these pens be mixed freely, or is each nib section slightly different from the others? I know I can switch nibs around, but that's rather more hassle than switching a barrel.

 

(If, for example, I break down and buy that Lamy Joy kit I'm wondering about, it'd be nice to put my Safari barrels on the extra nib sections so that I can use more than one nib at the same time.)

from my knowledge, which is what the sales keeper / shop keeper has reaffirmed with me is that

 

1. the nibs are interchangable between

 

the Safari / Vsita / Al-Star and Joy.

Yes, but I'm wondering about switching the whole nib section, or equivalently, the barrels around between pen models.

I have an Al-Star and two Safaris and the Al-Star is thicker than the Safari, so barrel, cap or grip/feed are not interchangeable, I'd have to look at a Joy closer, but I'd say it has Safari dimensions, might be able to check it out today, if so I'm gonna post again later.

An Al-Star cap will fit a Safari, but not the other way round.

 

Safari, Vista and Al-Star sections are interchangeable (but don't forget the black plastic ring).

 

A joy cap will fit an Al-Star but it is loose.

 

An Al-Star cap will fit a joy but it is tight.

 

A Safari cap will not fit a joy.

 

A Safari section will fit a joy but not the other way round, unless a joy cap is used.

 

A joy section will fit an Al-Star (but note the loose cap issue as stated above).

Fantastic, thank you! I already have a Joy and an AlStar, now I'm missing a Safari to try, for fun, all mutations.

BTW, what about the Vista? I always wanted to buy this demonstrator for fun, hoping it's interchangeable with the Safari (borrowing a little more of your knowledge here).
