Danitrio Pen Sizes?

Wizergig

Recommended Posts

I just spent some time looking at Danitrio.com. Beautiful works of art, but no specs provided. I would love to have one, but I wouldn't buy it unless I could use it. Anyone know where this information might exist?

From top: MB149, Takumi, Densho, 2 Mikado

Please note, the name Takumi, Densho, Mikado etc. refers to size of the pen. Different urushi is available in different size pens. For example:

For Densho: raw ebonite, solid urushi roiro-migaki, tamenuri, and maki-e

For Takumi: raw ebonite, solid urushi roiro-migaki, tamenuri, kawari-nuri, wakasa-nuri, kara-nuri, sakura-kawa, etc.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Kevin

Kevin, I should've known to just ask you.

I noticed on the website there seems to be a difference in size at this page.

Would you know anything about the one at the bottom of the page listed as...

On Takumi Pens. (Cartridge/Converter filling system with #6 18k gold nibs)

Yes, Tamenuri is available in: Genkai, Mikado, Octagon, Densho, Takumi, and Hanryo sizes, although the website only show Mikado, Densho, Takumi. They are in a process of a big update on the website this coming weeks. The Mikado and Genkai use the bigger #8 nib see nib shot on my above post, and the Densho and Takumi use the standard #6 nib as seen above.

The one you shown TA-5 is Takumi size, cc filler.

Best,

Kevin

Mikado eats 149. I loved that photo.

Nice shots, Kevin.

Wizergig, the Danis are large pens but honestly comfortable to use. If you have used a large pen like the Delta OS or the MB 149 or the Duofold Centennial and found it comfortable, a Takumi would not be a problem, IMO.

I have a Genkai and it is surprisingly light and comfortable despite being as large as a stick of dynamite.

I have the firm nibs on my Danis and prefer them to the soft anf flexy ones. But that is just me.
