The Fairchild Nib Sign.

When the USPTO originally digitized the patent images for their website, some of the scans were deemed to be too dark, or crude, or otherwise inadequate, and they were later replaced with cleaned up versions of the images. The old picture of the Fairchild nib-shaped sign is currently on Google, design no. D6,539, but it's not the same as the one on the USPTO website. The latter one is the new image, which has been cleaned up. Years ago I took the old one and cleaned it up further, but you'll have to wait till I use my version somewhere else, perhaps in some other article or book. Just as a curiosity, try searching the design number on the Google, USPTO, and EPO websites for three different versions of the design.
