Gojira, Godzilla, or Yokozuna...whatever you call it :-)

The official name should be Yokozuna or Grand Champion (as in Sumo wrestling). It is affectionally called the "Gojira" or "Godzilla" here. The first pen they will make will be the popular finish of Tamenuri. It is a huge pen, but actually quite comfortable in your hand due to the shape as it actually thins out a bit where you actually hold the pen. Two versions will be produced, one is the 24kt gold huge #50 size nib, hand cut huge Japanese ebonite feed, (think Namiki Emperor). The nib is done by a famous Japanese nibmesiter who is in that "Who's who" Japanese fountain pen book. The other will be with 18kt nib that is on current Mikado and Genkai production. It is a mightly beautiful pen!

Comapre to a Genkai size pen:

With current 18kt Gold nib. Actually looks pretty good due to the shape of the section which tappered a bit.

Two nibs side by side. The 24kt gold is definitely "yellower" than the 18kt nib:

Wow!

That is quite a beast.

What will be the prices and is there any scope for someone who prefers a nib that writes a western fine?

Due to agreement with manufactuerer, I can't post the prices (not sure why). Yes, other nib grades will be available. Pen can be ordered and take 2 to 3 months to complete.

Best,

Kevin

Not unless it was green with glowing yellow eyes and breathed fire.

I am sure we can make it green.. no breathing fire though, but might spit ink by shaking it :-)

I was wondering when this model might be produced. It is a lovely pen, and the engraved nib is really special. Is there any hope at all that this giant might be available as a raw ebonite pen?! Like some other folks, I have a small raw ebonite collection and this one would make a great addition.

Hello Kevin,

what choices for the handmade nib will be available: firm, flexible? Is it possible to get the pen as a C/C filler instead of an eyedropper (I know: sacrilege!)? I would like to see a simple raw ebonite version too.

Regards,

Nelson

Hi Nelson,

ED version for these only right now. The nib will be on the softer side, but NOT vintage flex. It will be softer than the Namiki Emperor for instance.

Best,

Kevin
