Having taken a leap into Edison pen land...

So... Glenn posted about one of his new Edison pens, and I saw his Herald in Yellowstone acrylic, and thought, "I need a pen in that exact material."

 

As some of you know, most of my small collection of pens are either Pelikans or Ragtimes, and I was worried about the size of Brian's pens. I spent some time looking at pens in this color (well there was only kinda one other), and finally asked Brian if he had the material available. As luck would have it, he's come up with a new style pen with a more tapered section which is more fitting to my particular pen-idiosycrasies.

 

Neither of these photos captures the depth of the acrylic. (Does that sound strange to say for a non-celluloid pen?) It's gold and yellow and caramel and green-but-not-really-green-but-yellow. When I look at it, I feel like I'm standing creek side watching the pebbles underneath the water.

 

It's a pen, and thought I'd share. Besides, promised Glenn I would post photos. The first is Brian's photo, and the 2nd is my attempt to give a size reference with the Edison alongside a Bexley Submariner. I think they look good together.

 

The Edison prototype is slightly longer than the Submariner, and weighs a couple grams more inked and uncapped. (Yes, it posts but that's not my style.) I plan to use this as an eyedropper, but currently have the converter inked with Diamine Prussian Blue.

 

Brian, as everyone has pretty much already said, was soooooo easy to work with, and was very generous in helping me through my "to clip or not" crisis. I think it looks great clipless.

Oh see now, that is one beautiful pen! Thank you for sharing, Julie. And yes, penwickEd, that is the same as the Bexley Americana Yellowstone, which I have, and which is one of the most beautiful materials (in my humble opinion)!

Yes, it's the same material as the Americana. I tussled over the Americana, which is a gorgeous pen but just too much pen for my picky small hand.
