Is a nice green.... I was expecting it to be closer to Waterman Green, but they are both distinct colors. Thanks for the review.

Thanks much for the review! I find myself wishing this ink had more shading, or were a bit richer. It's a pretty color, flows well, is smooth, etc. I currently use this ink for mixing. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll find I enjoy it purely for itself.

I wonder if the blue and bright colour is because of the digitalization-process, or if the ink is truly so.

I know only the vintage bottles (almost same shape, but with slightly different Pelikan logo, and in a green box and with a white etiquette) and it looks different!

 

Also, does it have a strong scent, compared to other inks? The old formula smells like gouache paint, and I wondered if it has to do with an older formulation, or characteristic of all Pelikan Brillant Grün.

DerkleineHerrFriedemann, the color on my monitor is nearly identical with the Pelikan green I have. Can't speak to it smelling similar to gouache.

 

This site lists the hue values of inks. Pelikan green is near the bottom of the list.

Oh thank you, for the information, and the most interesting links you gave me. It confirms my thought that possibly Pelikan 4001 Brillant Grün changed formula through the years, and if so, possibly other colours also.

 

My vintage bottle (of which the bottle looks like this one: http://www.pendemonium.com/images/inkbottles/i1035.gif is rather closer to what I see on the review of Diamine Umber ink

That is a very different green. Lovely. I like the way the new Pelikan green looks, but it would be a surprise to someone who knew it as something else.
