Again, great job, Chupie! B)

How much red vs. yellow vs. orange vs. black do you see in it?

Thanks, Chupie - that's a great colour.

So far, Beaver has been my most-used ink. It flows much better than Golden Brown and Eternal Brown, which skipped a lot (tried them in the same pen, a Sensa Meridian, Fine). Beaver sometimes has a purplish tint to it... I like it because it is dark, but still has some unique color to it.

When wetted, it smears a dull red, almost chocolately. It has hints of yellow I think but they're barely noticeable.. If you let it soak long enough, a faint purple will remain, but it is not waterproof. (boo hoo)

Thanks for the pics, Chupie, you're really doing us all a good service! When my exam is through with I'll take some pictures too...

I really can't say I see red or black. I suppose, red because the resulting color is very rich and very chocolate brown. Seriously, It is like you are writing with a melted chocolate bar. Very smooth. It would be a nice color for daily writing because it is dark enough for business, but has a really pleasing aesthetic for the writer.

This is probably my favorite brown that I own. A little on the dard red or even purple side sometimes. Unique compared to other browns. About a year ago I accidentally ordered an extra bottle of this. [HIJACK] If anyone is interested in buying it (never out of the box!) or trading for it, let me know. [/HIJACK]

Sorry chupie :o Great ink!

Beaver and Walnut seem very similar in color. Anyone have 'em both to see side by side? INK SAMPLER bears out their similarity in color. If true, the walnut would be my choice for its much better water resistance.

I have really been enjoying myself doing paper towel chromatography with the Noodler's inks that I own. Click Here for the thread I started to see the other colors, but I thought I'd repost just the Beaver ones here.

Beaver produces perhaps the best results of the six that I've tried, although Sequoia is quite interesting too (despite the fact that I dislike that ink!)... This only makes me appreciate Beaver even more.

I don't *quite* know how to assimilate the information these give, but it sure gives you an appreciation of what goes into the making of a color and is really interesting as well as beautiful. I think it is useful probably for beginning to think of making your own ink recipes. thanks!

The results of the paper towel chromatography shouldn't be surprising. Not if you’ve ever played with Play Doh as a kid (or as an adult?) and mixed all the colors together thinking you’ll get a super color - after all you’re mixing lots of colors together! Then got disappointed because all you had was brown, and all those great colors were gone
