Thanks for this review. I was soooo disappointed by this ink when I first bought it (despite warnings from people such as BilltheEditor), but now I revisit it from-time-to-time for what it is - a good green ink.

That's an interesting comparison, because I've looked at the color swatch and thought "not for me" but I use Gemstone Green, and like it fairly well. I guess the name is too incongruous with the color and it turns me off.

Yet another example of an ink that is labeled BLUE but is, in fact, GREEN. What is it about blue and green inks that causes the inkmasters to give blue names to green inks? I've never seen it work the other way around.

Yeah, I just bought PR Purple Mojo, and while I like the color, it is not very purple-y. Definitely more in the blue-purples than violet-purples. But the color swatch on the label has far more red in it than the ink does. Sometimes their names are a bit tricky, you really have to dip test them.

I'm a little alarmed that when I opened the post I immediately thought "That's a Miquelrius 4 subject notebook!", even before I read the end of the post. /end nonsequiter

 

Anyway, nice little review. I have this ink and would use it more often if it didn't bleed so badly in my moleskine, and if it were just a tad more blue. As others have commented, it should have been called Green Suede. It also looks rather like Skrip green to me.

 

Lately I've been using it mixed with Waterman Florida Blue or Pelikan Royal Blue, half and half, and that's pretty close to the color I *thought* Blue Suede ought to be

I once had this ink, but never liked it. Its a kind if neon colour, not friendly to the eyes.

Thanks for the review. Thanks to Pear Tree Pens' ink sampler program, I knew what Blue Suede looks like, but I had no idea it was so close to Levenger's Gemstone Green.

Blue-Suede is one of my faves. I always keep it filled in my VP Ice Blue (which doesn't seem real blue to me, either).

My disappointment in the Blue Suede / Gemstone Green similarity is that I already have Gemstone Green -- while I like it, I'm more of a blue and black ink user. God knows when I'll use up both of these inks.

 

I have to say, though, that Blue Suede is less prone to feathering on cheaper paper.

I went ahead and ordered this ink since I love the colour teal.

This is one of those inks that I've tried in multiple pens to try to find the pen that would show it off best and in a way that I wouldn't get tired of it. It's almost too too much for me when written on a full sheet in my medium and even fine nibs. BUT, I finally tried it with my dip pens, and I like it much better that way. It's not so in-your-face green. It's a very very dark black-looking green, but as the ink begins to play out in the nib, I get lovely dark green shading. I've decided it's a keeper for me for use with my dip pens.

The colour hurts my eyes too. Tried it in several pens but always came out the same. Was hoping for an elegant blue but it was green fluorescent.

Good review. Mine looks a little darker and not quite as green. I guess they very from batch to batch?
