Over the years the company has changed hands and are now located close to the world famous Aintree Race Course

Jade is fresh, green-yellow color. It looks quite ok but it causes massive nib crud.

Great as usual, Vis. How long did you leave that in your pen to get such crud?

 

That Diamine would release an ink that does this makes me avoid the brand as a whole.

Two-three weeks, I'm not sure. Well I still uise and enjoy Diamine inks although I don't agree they're as good as one would like to believe. Some of them can be really nasty I have Kelly Green sample in Kaweco. I'm gonna check it in one week.

Sadly many Diamine inks product nib crud, some are more than others, also there are a few which not do that. That's why I started to focusing other brands, or buy similar, same colors from other brands, not having these side effects.

It's a "feature" of some otherwise wonderful inks with a yellow dye.

Disappointing that all the Diamine greens that interest me suffer nib crud issues (Meadow, Kelly Green, even Jade)... are there any similarly cheery looking, well behaved alternatives?

I'm less concerned about the nib crud than I am about legibility. I think I would have the same issues that I have with Diamine Kelly Green and Meadow -- the ink is just too darned light. But thanks of the review. Learning about inks I *don't* want to buy is as informative to me as learning about ones I *do* want. And better for my wallet....

Noodlers doesn't appear to have a yellow-green other than the highlighter... I'll look into Sailor. Cheers!

 

And Ruth, you do bring up a good point. I'm fairly tolerant of light colours though-- the hue is the key. Worst comes to worst I'll put it in a broad nib.

Nah, it's too murky. I prefer a bright but not neon, springtime green like fresh grass.

Awww, nib crud. Is this exclusive to Diamine?

No - I've seen it in Private Reserve (Orange Crush and SHoreline Gold), Organics Studio (FS Fitzgerald, Foggy Bottom Sepia), Standardgraph (Orange), Rohrer & Klingner (only Helianthus the rest of their inks are splendid).

I have a pen that has been inked with Diamine Apple Glory (bright/vibrant highly legible) green ink since November. No issues whatsoever.

Happily most of their inks behave very well. There are however few that should be reformulated.

Diamine is such a (bleep) shoot I have five inks, four work great -- pink, emerald, red dragon, and imperial blue -- but one dries like a California Lake -- Jet Black. Though I do love all their colors and non-colors.

Another ink that looks nice in your review, but I don't think I would get much use out of. Much like my poor little bottle of chiku-rin that gets a fill once every couple of months. Thank you for the review!
