Parker "51" With Amber Jewel

I was looking for parts to complete barrel, blind cap and shell of one "51", so I recently found this one for parts with the pleasant surprise of the cap carrying the less common amber jewel instead of the usual gray.

Upon receipt I dismounted the cap for better to clean and to document this less common jewel. There go its images:

As both date of original nib and barrel was 1944 I chose to fix and reconstruct the broken barrel, instead of putting the mine with another date, in order to keep the clue that this jewel could well mounted that year.

That was originally gray, someone used shellac as a thread sealant to secure the jewel.

That must have been a nice surprise. There's a fair bit of gold wash left on the clutch ring too.

Lazard is correct, Pincel. Jewels were also made in an amber color.

I am seeking an amber barrel jewel...in case anyone has one knocking about....
