Violet - L'artisan Pastellier

L'Artisan Pastellier inks don't get much love or attention here. I understand this as they're not easily obtainable. You may buy them directly from the producer's on-line/stationery boutique. The best thing to do is to organiza group buy (I've done it twice last year for polish sountain pen board).

I must admit I'm huge fan of Callifolio series. Soon I'll prepare comparison of all 34 colors but it'll take time. Maybe November?

I'll make reviews of some of them.

Violet is pleasant, dusky violet. It has some "gold" particles in it so in the sunlight it shines like crazy.

INFO

Producer: L'Artisan Pastellier

Flow: very good in all pens I've ever filled with it

Woah, that sheen! I'm surprised this ink (manufacturer) doesn't get wider recognition around these parts, but as you say, the difficulty of obtaining them likely contributes to their relative obscurity.

Thanks for sharing!

Very cool ink....

Is it American?

Wow, that's a nice color. And both sheen and shading? I may have to look into this ink.

Please don't tell my husband.... Between the KWZI ink group buy and the US introduction of the new Herbin 1670 ink I've kinda blown my ink budget.... :wallbash:

I just can't love these inks. I received 4 colors as a gift and did extensive reviews. I felt cheated. Their inks were not as advertised. They are not super saturated.

Have the changed their formula in the last year or corrected their images?

I wanted to love these inks...and I hope they have improved. If I didn't really value your opinion, I would probably never consider them again. You might persuade me to give them another chance.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Today I've tried to catch these "golden" particles on the photo:

That looks like the same type of "sheen" of Stormy Grey... meaning, it looks like very fine gold dust...

Cool... I wish they will sell the gold dust (FP friendly of course) so we can add it to any ink we want... I think I will be mixing my stormy grey... :P

Wow, that's quite unique! Does it require shaking to mix the particles -- do the particles seem to separate/collect at the bottom like the J.Herbin 1670 inks.

I bought some L'Artisan Pastellier callifolio inks directly from their onlne boutique and they have arrived today, safe and sound. The only color I have tested a bit, so far, was Violet, in part because of my curiosity regarding the sheen described in this review — thing is, despite the fact that I'm loving this ink and shade I can't see any golden sheen whatsoever. Not even in Tomoe River paper, which is notorious for bringing out ink characteristics like this. Is it possible that being artisanal inks they are not very consistent?

I have tried several of the Callifolio inks and really love them, especially Bleu Pacifique. It also has a wonderful sheen and shading to it.

I got rid of my stock of this ink in 2011 because it was also leaving this kind of sheen on the nibs and feeds of my pens.

I also got rid of the sheen, eventually.

Just thought people ought to know.
