Pumpkin - Diamine

Pumpkin is cool. It's not very eloquent to say this but that's what I think :) This ink is really, really cool. Saturated, well-behaved (OK, it CAN cause some nib creep but it's just small inconvenience that won't stop me from using it).

If you like oranges you can also check my comparison of 32 oranges and yellows.

Indeed a beautiful ink. I especially like the way it comes out from a stub nib.

ps. I'm sure you 've been told so, but that ink splash thing is something else! :)

My favorite (and EDC) orange! You are not left in doubt about what it's color is when you use it.

It's O-R-A-N-G-E.

This was one of the first FP inks I ever bought, and I fell madly in love with it, at first sight. So did my husband. The irony? Both of us usually hate orange! Mostly because both of us look horrible in it, but we love love love love love this orange.

Go figure.

Off to see if I can find a comparison with Kin-Mokusei since Sailor prices are not yet for me I might grab a bottle of Pumpkin.

I had the same thought - without seeing them side by side, Pumpkin looks very much like Kin-Mokusei.

Here's a very quick comparison...

Kin-Mokusei:

More yellow, some shading, writes like butter. Takes a lot longer to dry on paper compared to Pumpkin. Has some silvery sheen(?). I get lots of hard starts with this ink in all but one pen/nib combo :gaah:

Pumpkin:

More red, I personally never got much shading from this ink? A bit more boring ink in my opinion, but on the other hand it works better than Kin-Mokusei.

I do like them both...

Thank you!!

So Pumpkin is a vivid orange and Kin-Mokusei is a yellowish orange. Now that I can see the difference side by side, I want them both! ;)

I find Kin Mokusei inherently more 'complex' than Diamine Pumpkin :)

Minddance and Almu your observations and the visual comparison are very helpful. Thank you bunches!
