K W Z I - Konrad - Etherx - Blue #3 V. Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo: Quick Comparison

I've forgotten where I said I would show a side-by-each comparison of KWZ Blue #3 and Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo, so I'm putting it here.

I'm a little frustrated with trying to capture the differences in color and tone, which are obvious on the paper, not so much in the photo. (My phone's camera didn't capture it, and my regular lens is broken, so I had to take this photo with my 55-200mm lens, hahaha, and I'm in a hurry (and the sun's in my eye, et cetera), so this will have to do.) I uploaded a rather large photo so you can zoom in for a better look.

I'm looking at the actual comparison, and the teal tone of ITY is obvious, whereas Blue #3 is blue, blue, blue. The red sheen of the ITY makes it look as if the letters are outlined in red.

The top line and left side are the Blue #3; the right side and the lines right under the smears are ITY. Obviously, the wetter the ink, the darker. All the straight lines - except for the one under "Still this is teal-er" - are Blue #3.

My Opinion:

They are both very pretty colors, but I would like the ITY better without the red sheen. For me, the red sheen falls into the "less is more" category - good for some uses but not for a even a full paragraph of writing.

That dark blue (#3), though, wow - it's lovely.

Well now, now the uploaded photo looks brighter - the Blue #3 is lighter than on the actual paper. I'm going to have to take another photo. Sigh.

Oi, the Internet... (The ISP here, I mean.)

Okay. The paper looks strange, but the ink colors are closer to what I'm seeing.

Nicely done comparison. I am always on the lookout for a beautiful blue and I'm really liking that KWZ #3. Might have to try it after seeing this. :) Thanks!

So, what's your point?

(Mine is a flexible F.)

Great comparison. Thank you!

I, love your writing . . . !

You ever thought about turning it into a font?

Thank you!

Your remark reminded me that 20 years ago, a co-worker asked me to provide her with my handwriting - the alphabet in capitals and lower case - so that her husband might turn it into a font. Don't know what happened. I didn't work at that job for long.

As for me, I have seen every once in a while in the past few years, software for turning one's handwriting into a font, and I have thought briefly about it but not more than a moment's "huh... I wonder...."

You're welcome, Dan. Wish I could remember who requested it.

Ah... AmberLea? I noticed the edited title: EthereX Blue, and I'm pleased and delighted by the honor, but, ah, that should be spelled EtherX. (Smiley-face, maybe blushing a little.)

Fixed. :) But it keeps making the x small when it should be BIG - sorry.
