Renee of Scriptorium Pens is making me a fountain pen. I'm going to post photos of the process. This is a picture of the raw materials. The buzz is she's going to start the pen tomorrow. Excitement! HERE WE GO!

awesome!

'The Yo-Yo maneuver is very difficult to explain. It was first perfected by the well-known Chinese fighter pilot Yo-Yo Noritake. He also found it difficult to explain, being quite devoid of English.

So we left it at that. He showed us the maneuver after a sort. B*****d stole my kill.'

Nice material, but be careful with your choices of ink.

Ooh, we are getting this one in instalments. Nice. I hope he takes a long time on it, making it a long and educational topic.

Ohhh, no... that would mean you would have to wait for your pens all that time.... Perhaps you can just make do, stretching the topic?

By all means... Did not have access to your profile at that time... (are you a fan of Angie Sage, by the way?)

In my country Rene, sometimes Renee is mostly a boys name.

Now you put the emphasis on it, I wonder how the division is in M-F in the penmaking community?

I know there are other women making kit pens, as I've seen them post on IAP, but I don't know about any others making custom kitless pens. That doesn't mean they aren't out there, just that I don't know of them. :)

gorgeous pen. I can't wait to see how it continues to evolve from raw material to writing instrument

It is nice to see something being hand crafted. I think things made using nothing but automation lack an essential something.

This is just about the most beautiful fountain pen on the planet, to my taste. Can't wait for you all to see it finished!

And it's especially nice that it is hand made.
