Which One Will Be Your Next Fountain Pen ?

Thier.

Recommended Posts

Gosh, pen envy!

I have a suspicion that my next pen will be a Waterman Carene. Although, if you'd asked me earlier today the answer would have been an Onoto. The Carene will be a gap-filler I am hoping, when the retailer gets in some new stock that is.

I have pen buying fever and I am having to restrain myself :P

Oh God. It's happening. I put my order into nibs.com. Nakaya Naka-ai Heki Tamenuri cigar with kanji and a 0.5mm Mottishaw stub. :gaah: And I immediately went and deleted all my eBay watched items. No more pen buying for a long time.

Congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So many persons are just dreaming about Nakaya but YOU are going to have one !!!!!

As I told somebody else, it's more than a pen, it's a real writing jewel !!!!!

My pen dealer should have a display full of Nakaya next week until december 31st. I told my wife I won't visit him, more than that, I even won't go in that street untill the end of the year, no temptation !!!!!

Thier, sounds like my wife and yours are long, lost cousins or are otherwise distant relatives....

While I "won the lottery" when it comes to everything else about her, my spouse is a woman for whom even Pilot G2's are too expensive when a Bic stick pen will do. She constantly demands promises from me like the ones you've made to your wife!

Guernseytim: I've been eyeballing the Carene as well.

Probably my next pen will be a Noodler's ACRYLIC Neponset. :D

Likewise! I hope they're not limited editions... That if they sell out without my getting one, I can look forward to getting one in the future.

I get the impression that really all the Noodler's pens are limited editions. Maybe not officially, but you know what I mean.

My next pen could be a Pelikan 800. I found a cheap one with a nib problem needing attention on a second hand website ..... I like bringing pens to life ........

Dont know, Im debating between an Italix Parsons Essential and a modern Conklin Duragraph, either in a stub or italic. Anyone care to comment or recommend either of these choices?

I think it depends on the model of the Nakaya. You can check their prices on John Mottishaw's site, nibs.com .

I think the cheapest one is about $550.

My Nakaya Portable Cigar cost about $550.00 a year ago from John Mottishaw. The best investment I ever made. Great writer, but more importantly for me a wonderful sketching tool. The nib is not super flexible but elastic and responsive, a joy to work with.

Hmm, my next pen is actually in the postal system lol

I had planned on waiting but Amazon scuppered my plans! They annoyingly briefly listed the Waterman Carene in black and gold for £60. I couldn't not buy it.

I then decided I needed a new ink to accompany it - hoping I receive both tomorrow! The ink I ordered is the Pelikan Edelstein Ruby Red.

Yes, I am !!! My clients know that I'm a pen addict and I receive pens from one or another nearly every week .... That's great, I think that they love me ....
