Toucan Bright Blue

Recommended Posts

Here's my review of Toucan Bright Blue. I've tried to adjust the scans to reflect the colour/brightness more accurately, but it still looks more bright on my screen than in real life.

There's also a lot of sheen present - more than Sailor sky high, but I will have to take some photos at a later date to show this.

That looks like a really nice colour. I've not been much of a fan of the other Toucan colours, but this is great. Thanks

This is my favourite colour out of the three that I hand picked based on previous scans (Bright Blue, Green and Orange). The other colours are not quite as saturated or as interesting - the green reminds me of Diamine Jade Green.

Hi Nonsensical,

I think you've picked out my 3 favourite colours too - though I've come to appreciate some of the other colours as I've used them a little more.

I haven't tried this one yet, but so far, the Toucan inks are nicely behaved. This one looks like it has a nice level of saturation. Thank you for sharing.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Wait until I somehow figure out how to photograph the sheen..It really is quite amazing from a dip pen. Unfortunately, I'm working with only a smart phone camera right now, which is making things a little more difficult.

This was my favorite blue ink until I could not find it to buy after awhile. Do you know where it can be bought these days? C. S.

Looks like Anderson Pens stock at least some of the colors (judging by the current sample and bottle selection, it looks like they had more but have run out). I'd contact them and ask if they plan on restocking:

Another option is Blackstone Lights Blue (https://andersonpens.com/blackstone-lights-blue-ink-30ml-bottle/) - which has been manufactured using dyes provided by Dye Manufacturers of Australia, who also make the original Toucan inks. In my experience of these two inks, the colour is virtually identical, but the lubrication and flow of the Blackstone version is a little better.
