I like Liberty's Elysium a whole lot. But it lost out as favorite blue to Noodler's Manhattan Blue (FPH exclusive, formerly Art Brown's exclusive).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I think this is a wonderful ink as well, but I'm curious if someone has encountered a staining problem with it. I had some in my pilot prera for a few weeks , and after washing it out, there was some pink residue left. It was easy to rub off with a tissue/q-tip; just wondering if someone else has seen this.

This is one of two Noodler's inks I have on hand that both get a lot of use in my pens. OK, the other is Baystate Blue, and I've only been game to try it in ONE pen (a purpose-bought Preppy) so far, but I really love them both. Liberty's Elysium has a noted tendency to run slightly when wet (one of the dyes that makes up the colour is less waterfast than the other(s)), but it's a well-behaved ink that cleans out of pens fairly well; BSB is an eye-popping colour, jumps off the page and sears the eyeballs with its brightness, but has a reputation for staining and (though I haven't experienced this!) for feathering on some papers.

I haven't found this, but in the two pens I've inked up with Liberty's Elysium most often, both have had minor issues: the aerometric filler sac on my Hero 616 is now tinged with blue that doesn't come out completely with pen flush (though I understand ink sacs tend to stain, and this is the only ink that's been in there!); while the inside of the cap on my Noodler's Konrad has blue stains from the ink that haven't come out with mild to moderate washing. Haven't tried anything too vigorous yet, though - and again, given the pen is a blue demonstrator, it's not too unsightly.
