A modest, but very satisfying, addition to the ink accumulation. Not one you find every day...

Now that's a color I could learn to like. Thanks for sharing.

Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? Very nice!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Since I have no chance to get a bottle of Persian Rose,

what currently available ink is close in color to the Sheaffer Persian Rose?

I haven't meant to be coy and not respond, it's just been a bit hectic.

I'm going to be at the LA Pen Show for a couple of days, and when I get back I'm going to be... um... not very active for a few days (medical procedure). So at that time I'll try to do a proper ink review and compare a couple of likely candidates, offering the caveat that my collection is not really deep in this particular color realm. I mean, this Persian Rose isn't totally unlike other inks, but it does have a certain look and qualities that is quite attractive. Good stuff, must use wisely! :)

That is what is difficult for me about special inks. You use them up...then its gone.

So you have to be pretty selective about how, when and where you use it.

I thought I was lucky in early January when I found an empty Persian Rose bottle on the 'bay for a fairly reasonable sum, then about a week later along came a full bottle with the box for less! WooHoo... and the color is good... Have seen some offerings for this ink where it had turned brown with time. Will have to use it only for very special occasions.

To err is human, to make a real mess, you need a computer.

Noodler's Ottoman Rose is a darker member of the same family of colours - it's possible that you would find it an acceptable substitute, although it might require some dilution to bring it into a paler hue.

Do note that I said "the same family of colours", as it's not an exact match. Still, it's a pleasing colour that I've used for years, pretty decently lubricated, and (relatively) little feathering.
