Not my cup of tea (so to speak) but obviously some people like it.

You actually bought this pen? Do a review! I have been considering buying it for weeks.

Yessir haha. I actually got it today. I have a thing for ugly pens, but it's pretty cool so I'm happy.

I'll do a review, sure! But I don't really have a ton of disposable time since it's exam week, so I would probably just keep it text only.

No way! The whole point is the silly pictures! I too have a secret love for ugly pens. Unfortunately, it seems like the uglier they are the more expensive they are, so it becomes less cartoonish. :(.

If we all started using these King Cobra Jinhaos, the When People Notice You Use A Fountain Pen thread might expand exponentially.

If we all started using these King Cobra Jinhaos . . .

. . . We'd all be suffering from repetitive strain injury.

Looks like a white elephant gift from a holiday party. I rarely even consider a black pen with gold accents, that Jinhao take black and gold to a level of gaudy unmatched. If that is your cup of tea, by all means enjoy.

Jinhao clearly on a roll, this one has a Crown, capped with a real Emerald (possibly).

Ah, yes. When I saw that pen, after repeatedly ridiculing the Montegrappa "Chaos" pen, I knew I had to have it.

Especially when the jewel came in red.

It thus became named "The Pen of Unrepentant and Universal Hideousity". Upon receiving it, I discovered two new charms:

  1. When light passed through the marble, eh... jewel, it refracted like a cat's eye. You could make it follow you. It was just like Sauron's Eye.
  2. That same jewel was loose enough to shake like a maraca. I can only but love a pen like this.

It thrilled me so much I chronicled it in one of my audio "Pen Sound Stories". It is short. You may listen to it if you like. :)

That pen sure makes a statement. Take that thing out of your pocket and place on the table at a meeting and you will get lots of questions about your pen. Maybe this is the ticket to get non fountain pen users to ask. There is no missing this thing. The only thing the hit you harder is the Jewelry around Mr. T's neck.

Holy Toledo, I love it. With a pen like that in my hand, I could finally become Evil Overlord and Dark Empress of All.

Yep, you've got it. That pen, almost by itself, could land you a bit part on Game of Thrones. And not as one of the 'good guys'.

Did I mention that it weighs 81 grams? Or that the perfect ink for it is Diamine Red Dragon? http://www.dragon-celeste.com/images/dragons/smiley24.gif

Back to the Original Post topic...

If Lucius or Draco Malfoy are looking for fountain pens there is an embarrassment of riches here for them...

  • 2 weeks later...

Love this garish Cobra pen! I have one on the way for my son - he freaked out when he saw it.

And I ordered an almost equally wild pen for myself - Dragon and Phoenix

Anyone know which regular pen it was based on?

Can the converter be used with blood? Would it flow through that nib?

Just curious...

(Bwa ha ha....)

Anybody else smell sulfer?

Blood will clog the converter, venom works fine though.

Now who carries that? And if you get it from Fountain Pen Hospital, do they also offer the anti-venom?
