It comes from https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/257502-parker-vacumatic-maxima/

... by association of ideas. Taking advantage in these part of the year own for gifts, herewith a scheme made by me that I want hopefully help to someone FPN user. In any case it is useful to call each Vacumatic by his real name according with the year in which it was manufactured. It is also very funny how you can date the Vacs. according to the imprint MADE IN USA -I think it might be the first time we talk about it publicly, I do not know- as MADE IN USA PAT, USA left or USA centered both without PAT). Or dated by the varying width of the bottom of the "feathers" on clip. Really funny.

Without wishing to be awkward, I'm in the UK and have only 1 USA Vacumatic so far, my others are Canadian and 1 is Danish.

Is there any information out there about naming of / markings on pens made outside the USA?

(I also find UK 51s don't match US made 51s regarding dating)

Can we open this discussion at the other board where some of the Vacumatic guys play? Ding so would garner more data.

Thank you for that high resolution photo! Very helpful. My small collection started with a search for a birthyear (1940) pen, found a Parker Striped Duofold, this has expanded to vac and duofolds from over the pre-war to post -war period. surprising variety! So far I am limiting my self to one per year except for the birth year.
