Hopefully you have been following along in the other thread and have some ideas on which member you're leaning towards. There are some wonderful entries. Please use them to help decide who will be the most deserving entry for the member you also think will be the Best ambassador for the Loaner Program.

Here is the thread with the entries. In the voting area of this thread, I've listed each Post # and the nickname of the FPNer for that entry. If you weren't aware of the contest/vote it's probably best for sure to start with Post 1 in the below thread. That's the explanation for the contest.

Each entry stands on it's own merits for voting purposes so if there are multiples for a member, pick The Best one. Each of us may vote One Time for One entry.

Let's let the voting run 5 days ending say 6 am Eastern Friday, 12/20.

Have fun with the entries! :D And Thank You Everyone for your participation!

I believe that is a "right" fundamental to "running for office".

Being able to vote for yourself. ;) If YOU don't believe in yourself, who Else is going to?

Agreed. I don't know why someone wouldn't vote for themself.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you for taking the time to organize the contest! It was very fun to participate, and it gave many of us the opportunity to know a little bit more about the Esterbrook community and the Loan program.

Yes, thanks Bruce for all the work you have done promoting the Estie Loaner program, and for such a nice pen as gift for participation.

FPNer ANM's donation to the Loaner program is what really started the train here.

Gotta Thank FPN and all the Estie Owners too for helping the program to be the unique success it is.

I wonder if I'm the only voter who wishes a few more profile pages were more complete. :(

It's REALLY close everyone.

A 2 way tie for 1st now with 4 more members within 2 votes each of the same tie...

391 thread views and Only 28 votes cast?

We can do better than that can't we??

Will it be possible to recast my vote? I should have actually waited. I voted for myself once, then someone else voted for my other post which would put it at 2 if i recasted my vote to the first

Edit: NM just saw the delete vote button :D

For the sake of transparent truthiness.

I Did give the multi entry part a fair amount of thought.

First, as you will note, the Estie Loaner's program has only the few minor "restrictions" that are absolutely necessary, As the contest For the program was Also intended to have.

I have seen popular contests here before become quite fun with escalations of multiple entries from members.[1] As such, limiting to 1 single entry didn't seem like a good idea. Also another generally undesired restriction.

Then you have the question as to if multiple entries will dilute the vote for that member. Agreeably that's a possibility.

The easy answer to that is you combine the votes for each member's entry(ies). But then, IMO, That isn't fair to the member who submits just one equally well done entry.

The most apparent to me, most fair and logical solution was to simply let each entry stand alone for voting purposes. In theory, each voter would read All the multiple entries, perhaps learning more about the member than from just one entry and that One of those multiple entries would be Nicer than the rest and would be the entry to garner the most votes for that member and thusly reduce/eliminate any "dilution". That option to me anyway, stood to benefit the multi entry member for their extra effort while at the same time Not "penalizing" the member who turned in only one entry of equal quality.

There may or may not be any better or Righter alternate vote count method but at least you know the thought that went into the the one I decided on.

[1] Don't tell anyone but a major objective for the contest was for it to be as fun for the non-entering veteran member spectator as it was for the participants. ;)

Was there a requirement written in a latter post to write in your profile that I've missed reading

For a while there I didn't even know how to get to my profile so it might be something new members might miss (or maybe thats just me  )

The post above should not be regarded as the absolute and undeniable truth and facts as it may contain the garbled mutterings of an overworked, stressed and nonsensical student who may or may not be on the brink of insanity.
Please regard her with ten grains of salt and stay out of arms reach and at least ten metres away.

Much obliged,

Does the poll master have any plans up his sleeve/section if it's a tie all the way to the end? :D

Just bumping the thread up.

Cheers.

Edit: touch of FP humour, couldn't resist. :lticaptd:

Yes, thought has been given to that.

There are for all intents and purposes, No chances of a tie.

Thanks for the chuckle though.
