I'd heard this one was Iroshizuku's periwinkle blue. It looks close. I like a good periwinkle color. It's just fun to say.

This seems a little drier than some of the Iroshizuku inks I've tried. Just a bit. Still flows good and doesn't feather, bleed, or insult your mom. As standard for Iroshizuku. Did better with the water test than I was expecting. It's close in color to Namiki Blue. (which I realize now I forgot to add to the comparisons on the sheet)

Great review.

Good review! After rotating different brands and nib sizes this looks a tad more purplish to me (and on this monitor), never fails to flow on an F nib Muji.

I've noticed that about this ink. It seems to depend a lot on the pen as to how blueish vs purpleish it shows.

NomadHacker,

I'm intrigued with the waterfastness, though I do like the more vivid blues in the Iro line also. For missives where you don't want the ink to stand out, this might be just the ticket.

The Iroshizuku line isn't really known for its water-resistant qualities. None of them are what I'd consider water proof, but most have at least some level of resistance. This one in the water test washed away a bit, but there was still some left to decipher what you've written. My personal water test is to drop a few droplets on top for a few minutes, and swipe the bottom twice with a wet finger. I don't do a long dunk or hold it under running water for several minutes like some. So bear that in mind when checking out my water tests also.

As my water hazards usually include caffeine, your test is similar to my most likely water incident, even down to the wipe with the wet finger. Mine also generally include colorful and loud language, but I doubt that helps or hinders the information retention. I generally re-write multiple times, so if I can re-copy what I've got, it might even improve if I can re-construct what I had.

Cheers,

Mike

Yeah, my colorful language test is still in development. But so far I haven't found that any inks respond differently to others no matter how forceful or creative my profanity.
