I do like your reviews! Also, this ink looks like one I might have to try one day although I don't tend to 'do' reds, per se.

I think the shading depends on the paper too. On hard paper with a wet medium I did see shading but not on more absorbent papers.

Thanks! I didn't expect to get into reds/burgundies but I'm enjoying them a lot. (I am one of those people who likes to match pen color to ink color and I have a lot of reddish pens, so...)

Yeah, that's a good point. The paper in this review is Clairefontaine looseleaf. I bet if I tried this ink/pen combo on my Apica notebooks (the CD10? ones with the absorbent paper) there wouldn't really be any shading to speak of, as you say.

looks close to private reserve burgundy myst

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I like the Diamine Reds, and though they do have definite shades - I really appreciate the different properties. See the review / comparison from Cyabea and then see how the images fade.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Many thanks for the review. I've tried this one too, with similar experiences. It's an interesting colour but somehow it failed to charm me, probably because it's similar to other inks I use regularly.
