2013 New England Pen Show Haul

Went to the New England Pen Show today. It was a lot of fun meeting all the nice people and seeing all the pretty pens. The highlight was meeting Nathan Tardif and picking up a couple of this pens.

Got the new Ebonite Konrad fountain pen in Methuselahs Pine Cone with a flexible steel nib adjusted for max flex by Nathan himself.

Also, got the new Ebonite Neponset with, hold your breath, the new two tine music nib! Nathan set that nib while I waited and it writes a mighty nice line. Nathan joked only Noodler's would have to get a music nib to finally provide a medium/broad writing nib. It was fun talking with him, and he gave me some of the new style o-rings for my Ahab's, which was cool. Also picked up a $1 pack of LED blacklights for showing the glow in some Noodler's inks. Realized later I forgot to pay for that and felt bad, but he forgot to give me the two free promotional rigid nibs for the Konrad so I figure we are even. Nathan, if you read this and are sore I'd be happy to drop a greenback in the mail nevermind how much the Feds actions will devalue the note while it is in transit. :-)

No pics with Nathan, didn't even think of it. He was popular and quite busy. Very friendly and genuine.

well done

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Good score on the music pen (pun intended). Did you get a sense when these might be generally available, and what MSRP would be? I've got an open slot in my pen case just waiting for one of those.

Can't say when they will hit retail. Nathan had a big bag of them, but none had nibs. He was busy chatting and setting nibs while customers waited. He charged the expected retail price so as not to undercut his peeps. Expect $65. The pen is worth that much too. Big pen. Ebonite. Stub nib. Ebonite feed. Large ink capacity.
