Wow in 12 hours it's up to $49 with 6 days to go! Going to watch this one and see how high it goes. I may have to let go of a few bottles from my horde to fund a pen purchase!

The only reason that I will get this stuff is to sell it later at even a more expensive price.

As a sign of how bad the fountain pen market is herein Iceland I can buy Parker Sapphire cartridges at the bookstore. They haven't ordered Parker cartridges in a loooooong time. Still nice to be able to get it for chead. A pack of five is a dollar and a half

If I were in Iceland I'd hoard everything they have in stock and rehydrate them into a bottle ;)

Good stuff, down to my last bottles, but I won't miss it when gone.

DC Supershow 2003 and 2004, and the occasional BSB venture will tide me over.

Well, as of June 13 the price is over $76 US! :yikes: Just a little steep for me... okay, a LOT steep.... I mean, I didn't pay that much for my Plum 51! (And the second listing was at $54 US -- which is *almost* what I paid for my other 51 Aero...).

Maybe it's good that I wasn't into FPs in PPS's heyday. That way I'm not missing anything....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

How about Ruby? I would get all of that and put it in a bottle, like mAnuscript69 said, lol.

I might do that, the fact is though that I don't really like blue. I have a bottle of Lamy Blue that I always mix with either black or purple. Sapphire is beautiful though. Penman Ebony is also really good, I have like 15 cartridges of that.

Please don't judge blue inks by that particular brand... not to say that it isn't great if you love it already...

That is my FAVORITE ink! I bought six unopened bottles of the lovely blue sapphire from a seller in Greece a few years ago as well as some cartridges from some other sellers. Don't worry, I will not be bidding as others should get to enjoy this great ink as well.

Really? I wish that I had a source for more cartridges!

I used this stuff back when it was current stock. I still have two thirds of a bottle of emerald green. I just don't see the mystique. There are so many wonderful Colors and hues of ink available these days it's not worth paying top dollar for old ink.

"how do I know what I think until I write it down?"

Penman Sapphire is definitely the nicest blue I have written with and as I say I do have a bottle of Lamy Blue but straight up blue is just not a color that really gets me. Blue with a hint of Diamine Grape or a nice blue-black, then we are talking. My favorite mix so far is probably when I filled the converter in my Lamy half and half with Lamy Blue and Diamine Grape and then added a drop of black.

They stopped making it due to the ummmmm.... complaints about certain characteristics of the ink.

I enjoy having it around, the bottles are nice and take me back in nostalgia.

Not a bad mix... might try out a variation of that with other brands...

A real nice Gent  , gave me 9 cartridges....when the price was what I thought was outrageous. Now it's sell your Bentley.

MB Gandhi shot through the roof.

I was lucky to find two MB Winter Forest for €13 in a B&M, and boght a bottle for €19 as 'fair' on German Ebay.

A year later the price was €30.

I bought a second bottle of MB Meisterstuck Diamond at the M&B.

I believe the reason they stopped making the supersaturated Pennman inks was everyone was ignorant, and didn't know about pen hygiene way back just before the turn of the century, so like any supersaturated ink, will cause pen problems in a dirty pen, that Parker had to keep repairing.

I was just as ignorant as any of my the 'silver dime' generation.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.
