Sonnet Section Problem

Recommended Posts

Good morning. I've an early Sonnet (fire dance color, for what it's worth. The black plastic section grip has begun to rotate as the pen is used. I've checked that the nib and feed are tight. I've removed said nib, etc. and find that when I hold the section and twist the brass part, the thin gold ring that is just behind the nib rotates as I twist. Question: how are these metal parts held together? Are they somehow threaded internally that could be tightened, or is this some kind of a press fit that is beginning to fail? Thanks much,

I'm sure someone will answer directly....I'd like to know the answer as well. hmm1.gif

Thanks for the encouragement. Subsequently I looked through a glass at the end of the section that would be closest to the nib. On the inner sleeve there are six small indentations that are obviously for some small tool. T got a screwdriver that is wide enough to cross between two of the opposing indentations and carefully turned to the left. The inner sleeve turned freely, at first, then began to tighten. When it was obviously coming to the end of the threads - or whatever is in there - I quit, and find that everything is now as it should be. So... Seems I solved my own problem... I hope others find this simple step useful!
