After-Christmas Fun

It was really a great Christmas!

My daughter Margherita had a burgundy 146 with a matching MB Hitchcock ink, and a 2-slots Meisterstück Siena pouch.

Daughter Carlotta is traveling, and she does not know that a Leonardo sketch pen is waiting for her.

I received a pen holder for my MB 146, which now can left the box to permanently stay on the desk together with a 149.

I finally also inked my new Montblanc Hemingway (well, I bought her several months ago, but she remained closed in a drawer until now, being my Christmas self-present…), with its difficult-to-find factory EF nib, that I searched for long time in order to have a Hemi to write AND to draw with.

And eventually, even though this is not MB, I received a digital back for my Hasselblads V, a real joy to work with. The shot of my renewed desk, with the first sketch made with the Hemingway (old MB Blue-black ink), was taken with a Planar 80 f/2.8 on the Hasselblad CFV-16.

After-Christmas fun…

The picture is really good - great composition & lighting (and the subjects were kind enough to pose for you too)! Congratulations on your Xmas gifts!

Thank you JLS1: there is nothing so good as to have some calm time to spend at home during the Christmas holidays. I wish you all the best.

Great photo of what sounds like a great Christmas

Enjoy them in good health for many years to come.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Obviously this Hemi could not have landed anywhere better. I so much admire your drawings. Is it an existing subject?

And the picture is crystal-clear in its largest format, which is obviously the advantage of a large frame camera.

Enjoy for a long time to come.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Pen Nut: thank you for your kind words. I hope not being touching a too "delicate" argument (I read about Dee Vorce...), but how do you feel owning one of the most glorious, splendid, dream-pen ever produced by MB?

Thank you Georges: it is always a pleasure sharing with the "community of the pen"!

Peterpen53: the ruins are real, remnants of an ancient Longobard tower not far from my birthplace in northern Italy, in a small and well conserved village called Induno (Indüun in the local dialect). I drawn it from a black and white photo I took severamente years ago with my Hassy...

KJY: you are right, this is a pen which will be used frequently. I really like the large nibs of my 149s (and my Dumas...), and the Hemi is not exception. Thanks for commenting.

Dear da vinci: thank you for your wishes. Have a great New Year full of pens and any other satisfaction!
