What I like is the case with notepad… Yummy!

It's a "pocket organizer", iirc this one came from countycomm.com. I just stuck an A6 notepad in it.

While it is functional, it is quite cheaply made (and ugly). I bought 2 of them a while ago, 1 is already worn to the last thread (although that one was used for a small toolkit and saw a little harder use than this one).

A better made, but more expensive, version is available from Maxpedition (it's called the EDC Pocket Organiser). The biggest differences are that the one I have has 7 loops for pens, the Maxpedition version has only 6 in the spot where mine has them, but has 4 additional larger ones in the spot where I have the notepad (this would be good for lefties as well, as they can put the pad on the other side, although it would be at the expense of capacity for 2 pens). Also, both can be attached to military style webbing platforms. The way this is done with the Maxpedition is better IMHO, as it allows for the notepad to lay a little more flat. And last but not least, The Maxpedition is available in more colours (even though they are still the usual colours aimed at military/law enforcement personnel).

If my pocket organiser wears out like the last one did, I'll probably replace it with the Maxpedition version (if I haven't found a better substitute by then).

... Never underestimate the power of human stupidity ...

I've been considering the Maxpedition Organizer, just for pens, misc. stuff, etc... But I feel like it might be too much. I don't need all the webbing, loops, etc... I'm looking at a couple organizers from Jetpens. This 'Book Style' pen case and this pen case that reminds me of some of the Maxpedition organizers.

I keep doodling and writing stuff to post here, but then forgetting. Tonight I'll get caught up a bit- I also have an idea in mind for some typography sort of doodling.

There are no FP shops near me, so everything I have is ordered online. I research as best as I can, but it's still always strange to hold a new FP for the first time because it is ALWAYS different than I imagined. With the Lamy 2000 it is smaller than I pictured. That's not a bad thing at all just strange. The barrel's width compares to a TWSBI mini. The Makrolon (sic) is really nice - Like felted, harden paper and the cap is unbelievable with the soft spring loaded clip and the subtle click when replacing the cap. The nib can produce a very, very thin line to my surprise as almost all reviews say it's thicker than expected. When given pressure it can be made thicker, but a soft touch and this thing produces spider webs. The line variation reminds me of a hand sharpened number 2 pencil. Thin as can be when sharp, or bolder when given some pressure on a dull pencil point. This EF will make a great drawing/sketching FP because of the super thin lines that can produce some slight variation while not being so flexible that you feel you could damage the nib with too much pressure like my custom Falcon.

The paper is APICA... Smooth as can be with almost zero show through, but it can't stand wet or thicker strokes as it feathers like a wet towel. Recommended only for ef nibs.

danygr1974: Is that video of you writing with the pens you are using today? If so, very, very nice. I have not yet mastered the quick lifting stroke you do to such good effect. Lovely pens, as well.

Just finished putting this one together. Took it apart for a good cleaning, took out the XF hard as a nail Accountant nib, put in a super flex wet noodle, then polished and waxed everything. Waterman 52 Red Ripple.

OOPhoto - Very nice work on the RR Waterman. How do you polish and wax your pens?

A new pen for the collection just returned from restoring the piston system. The pen is a basic piston filler, decent weight, the clip is extra cool reminds me of a Parker sword clip, and the colors are black and stripes in pearlescent copper. The nib could use a bit of refinement as it has a scratchy point on it.

Not bothering with a picture as it looks like every other Lamy Joy, but boy howdy, is it fun to write with. I took several pages of notes today with it. It's a 1.1 nib. I may have gotten an exceptional example of a nib, but I do understand why people like their Lamys. Not the prettiest pen in the world, but I like the extended barrel, like a desk pen or dip pen. And writing is so fun. It's crisp like an italic, but smooth to write with like a stub.

Hello everyone, I check this thread regularly and take photos of pens with the plan to upload them every couple of weeks. But I am so lazy they stay on my phone and never get uploaded. Today I am turning over a new leaf.

I've owned a Lamy Studio in Royal Red and steel nib for some time. I love the look of the pen and it writes beautifully, just like all my Lamys. Anyway, despite the fact I am on a self-imposed pen buying ban, on Wednesday I was looking at the larrypost.com.au website (no affiliation etc) for "fun". I spied a Lamy Studio in Platinum Grey with a bi-colour gold nib on sale at 1/2 the price they typically cost us Aussies. I knew I really needed it. It arrived yesterday (Thursday) and today I inked it up and started using it. I am surprised at how much I love the look of this pen. To me, if you look up the definition of "understated elegance" in the dictionary, you would find a photo of this beauty. Oh, and it writes well too. (Note: the pen is a slightly lighter colour than appears in these photos. It's a grey day, I don't have any lights on, I took the photos with my phone and I am a lousy photographer. So you'll just have to take my word for how beautiful it is ;) )
