That looks like a pre 1995 Vanishing point. Here's an index of the history of the VP,

I'm in love... My dialog 3 arrived today. The nib is absolutely beautiful (albeit it came crooked, took 5 minutes of prodding to get the tines aligned). I think this is definitely going to be my at-home writing pen. I doubt it will ever leave the house :)

Twsbi has a retractable fountain pen in development, called the Click (similar in function to the Vanishing Point).

aw jeez.. am I the only one that thinks the clip placement and all white barrel looks gaudy and cheap?

I'm a little hot potato right meow

"no they are not making littler ponies, they are EMBRACING"

I opened a box of cheerios and planted them. I thought they were doughnut seeds. They didn't sprout :( (joke of the week)

Hi, I'm a newbie at the forum, but I do have a retracting fountainpen that nobody in this thread mentioned... it's a Tsunami, and came in a nice wooden box as part of a two-pen set, a ballpoint and fountainpen. It has both a cap and a mechanism for retracting the nib, very similar to the Montblanc Boheme, with the difference that the cap does not screw on like the Boheme. It's a relatively small pen, a bit stubby, black with metal colored cap. The model number is #30004, if that helps. While I've bought and used fountainpens for years, I don't consider myself knowledgeable about them and don't usually know the terminology I see used on this forum. Anyway I came across this pen set in an office supply store in Curaçao, where I live, and bought it for something like fifteen US dollars, if memory serves. This was back in 2006.

I'm very glad I found this site and became a member to be able to use all its features.

Welcome to the forum! :W2FPN:

How is this Tsunami pen in terms of smoothness and writing ability?

Welcome MHGuda. Can you post a picture?

Thanks. Here is a picture of my pen. The inkflow normally is smooth, and the pen is very nice in hand. It came in a wooden box together with a ballpoint pen (which I don't use).

The only problem it gives me is when changing an ink cartridge, you have to push a little hard for it to sit correctly, and that can sometimes cause the retracting mechanism to shoot out of the barrel. You just push it back in then, but it is a little bothersome.
