I absolutely LOVE Kiwa-guro and this review really proves the fact that it is waterproof...

At least it is justified in it's cost....

Thanks for the experiment. Looks like it Montblanc Black is worth a try. I prefer washable inks, and have been looking for a washable black.

Thank you! I'm currently cleaning a vintage Parker Duofold and have been trying to figure out what ink was in it. It starts out bluish, then goes to black, then has a distinct yellow halo. I suspect Parker Quink Black based on your tests thumbup.gif

Hi Pomperopero, can you tell me the blue ink used in this review. I am impressed with the blue shade of the ink.

Thanks,

Excellent comparison. I did the water testing too and it doesn't surprise me at all that there is a truly variable degree of non-black colours in several. But that is something which sort of interests me. Just like, say, a comparison of the "redness" in a dozen different red wines. There doesn't always have to be "one pure" red. IMO

Wow, this is great and I would have been sad if I had missed it.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Fantastic review. Thank you.

I bought a bottle of Sailor Jentle Black based on your findings and am totally in love with it. Wonderful flow rate and a joy to use.

I use it for sketching and wash over it with water. It has no colour split but produces a lovely even warm blue wash, if that makes sense.

Here it is next to another favourite of mine, R&K's Leipsiger Schwarz which splits beautifully into all kinds of magentas and blues.

Hello Tas. Nice to hear my "experiment" has been useful.

Beautiful sketch.

You should try Diamine graphite; it splits into a kinds of green.
