Sailor Apricot Vs. Kin-Mokusei (& Chromatography)

Here is a comparison of the new Sailor Apricot that looks virtually the same as the Autumn Kin-Mokusei. On the writing samples, I went over the Brause 0.5mm writing of "Sailor Apricot #273 2011 Series" again with the 0.7mm nib because it was too hard to read. As is usually the case with yellow/orange inks, these are more distinct with a broader nib. If I had to make a decision on differences, I would say the Kin Mokusei is just a tiny bit richer orange...but very tiny.

It's kind of fun to do it and watch what "bursts forth." It gives you a better appreciation for what ink blenders toss together.

I found that there was a Sailor Kobe ink I should have added to this shootout, as it is also very similar. However, the chromatography shows it does have more red, which is noticeable in person. Not sure how distinct it will look in photos and scan.

SamCapote, I'm curious about how you do your chroma strips...? I've been working with circular ones on paper towels, but really like the more pronounced color separation you get. Tips, please...?
