Parker Mystery Pen

I could use a little help in putting a name to these two Parkers. {See attachments} I aquired the rust coloured one first, maybe 12 years ago, the black one a few years later. The rust colour was in itself new to me as a Parker colour. To date the only other Parker in this colour that I am aware of is the VS {Vacumatic aka Victory, Successor}. Indeed the plastic of the pen is what Tony Fischier called 'leathery', somewhat like a Wahl skyliner, a softer feel. Moreover the section is a bit discoloured as happens with that colour. As the button under the blind cap was missing I wondered about the proper way to fill the pen. Broken down, it simply unscrews, long treads like eye dropper fillers, and exposes the sac. So I simply squeeze it like an areomatic. The 'O' ring, no longer a feature of the black pen, or waher helps keep a tight seal.

The only markings are 'Parker' on the cap band and nib. The rust nib is marked in an unusual and distinctive way and shows it made in Canada. Like me. The black nib is a generic 14K Parker Pen nib, like Televisors.

The caps are distinctive and unique to my experience with Parker. Typical jewel style, but arrowless and, I assume stainless steel. The bottom flairs up like a clip on an early Wahl eversharp pencil. And they are plastic. Actually a nice clean looking cap. It took me a few years to figure my Parker Canadian Arrows out, so help me shorten the time. They came from the time that I waited in line for the flea market to open and if it was a pen, bought it, and is usually the case the seller had no more idea than I what it was or where he got it.

Another Place

THANX, the two Davids collectively have a pile of info. The rust duofold is a match, except mine had no imprints.

In the result I now have all the Duofolds, including a 'whacky' Canadian. Having deleted the clutch ring on the black one then is another version again no imprint on mine.

I've got one with a "clutch-ring" which is no more than a protruberance on the section-- the very-nearly worn-off date code is for second quarter of 1948

...and I was also very puzzled by it when it came into my hands. Very nice points on them, tho'.

What a coincidence! I was preparing the pictures to open a new thread about the same pen.

Mine came in a Parker lot I've bought recently. At first I thought it was some kind of frankenpen due to the rare clip, the friction fit cap and the button filler. But after a closer examination I discovered the faint imprint: Parker Duofold Made in Canada 8". And a mechanical pencil of the same line was also included in the lot. Not a set, as they are different colors.

The pencil it twist action, but the twist section is just the very metal point. You can not twist the barrel from the half. :bonk:

There's been something on these not long ago, iirc it's a Duofold of uniquely Canadian production....then again I may not remember correctly!!

The plot thickens. We seem to have confirmed a distinctive Canadian Duofold. No visible imprints on either of mine and no clutch-ring on the black one. The rust one however has the.8 date code on the nib. The nib on the black one is, as noted, generic Parker

Colours to date: rust, black, grey and blue. Any other colours or variations out there?
