How Does A M8xx Nib Attach To The Feed?

I posted a similar question in the repair forum and didn't receive any useful replies so I thought I'd post in the Pelikan forum. I have a M8xx B nib ground to a CI that I received in a trade. The nib seems to be out of alignment with the feed as if it has rotated around the feed. Seems like the kind of thing that could happen when someone tries to remove the nib when it is in too tight. When you look at the back of the nib the right edge of the nib aligns with the right edge of the feed. The left side has at least a 1/16" space. My question is how does the nib attach to the feed and is this something I can adjust myself?

you need to put it on a knockout block and carefully hammer it out. there's a collar that holds the nib and feed and the collar (i think) is the part with the threads that screws into the section.

somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

once out, you just pinch the nib and feed together with your forefinger and thumb, and stick it back in there. it might be easier to do if the collar is screwed into the section first though.

I think it depends on how far it has "rotated". If it's half-way around the nib then watch_art is quite right. If it's just 3 degrees out of perfect alignment then just push it into place.

Thanks! It sounds like it is something I'd better have a nibmeister handle at some point.

how to align a nib to your feed. you might want to practice on a pen that's not too precious to you at first.

remember, i'm not a pro, just a shade-tree nib, uh, pen guy... something.

thanks for the help, once I found out it's just a pressure fit I pushed it back into place!
