How to tell if your nib is made by Pelikan.

Recently the guy from Pen Gallery told me that certain new models of Pelikan are still fitted with old nibs that were still made by Pelikan. He said that most of the new nibs are made by Bock ... Is there like a way to tell? He told me but I did not understand.

I read here a couple months ago, and you can probably find it on the Pelikan forum, that Pelikan took back the nib making process because they didn't like what Bock was doing and now all of them are Pelikan-made.

Phone calls last just minutes, emails get deleted, but letters live forever.

When I was at the Pelikan factory in April I was told that all Pelikan nibs are Pelikan made except for the M1000s which were in the process of being taken in-house.

As far as I know there is no way to tell if a nib was made by pelikan or by Bock, but it really should not matter as they are made on the same machinery to the same specifications.

What matters is how they are adjusted and fitted, and as I have described previously, Pelikan is aware that they had a QC problem and have taken steps to remedy it.

Somehow being the person who just paid 100 bucks to get a new M1000 nib and knowing that they are "working to remedy" issues with their nibs doesn't really make me feel real good.

Relax and enjoy your pen.
