Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea Turquoise

This is my absolute favorite color of fountain pen ink that I have come across yet! For me, it is the perfect teal. It is blue-green but leans more green than blue. I just love it. I only have a sample of it, but I have been rationing it out for over a month. There are only two real drawback to this ink: it is expensive and it is not water resistant. The expense of this ink is the reason I don't have a bottle of it. I just can't pay that much for an ink that isn't water resistant. I need some level of water resistance because I tend to spill things from time to time. Even one drop of water on CdA Caribbean Sea can devastate a page of writing.

The specifics:

no feathering

some slight bleed through on cheap or thin papers, but none on Rhodia.

flows well, but the lubrication could be a bit better

it dries pretty quickly on regular paper at about 5 secs, but on this index card it took about 10 secs.

it offers wonderful shading.

NB: While this color is a bit subdued, it is a little bit brighter than it appears in these pictures.

If anyone is interested, this is how it compares to Peacock Blue:

Nice color! Looks like Caran D'Ache rebottled their old Turquoise Green ink and gave it a new name. I have a couple of bottles of the old stuff, and when it's used up, I guess I'll buy some Caribbean Sea Turquoise.

This is also one of favorite inks. Its subtle shading within a blue-green spectrum makes me smile. I use it in my Visconti Blue Van Gogh Maxi with a Fine Nib. I don't know why the Caran d'Ache inks are often double in price from what others are, but I like all of them except Blue Night, which is gray.

That is beautiful. In live use is it stronger/darker than Herbin Vert Reseda or similar to it?

Well I don't have that one, but judging from the reviews in the review index, these two colors are not at all similar. Vert Reseda seems a light/medium green with just a hint of blue. Caribbean Sea is a medium teal that leans green but is definitely in the blue-green family.

Maybe someone who owns both can post a scan?

This is the colour I NEED in my life. Unfortunately I also need it to be waterproof/bulletproof. Does anyone know of any such ink?

Much darker and more practical. Here's a scan of both :

This has to also be one of my favourite FP inks and is definitely worth the extra pennies in terms of cost.

Anyone able to do a side-by-side of Caribbean Sea with Diamine Steel Blue? From the scans they look almost identical.

Noodler's Dostoevsky is in the same ballpark, but also a bit chalkier and less saturated.

Diamine Marine is very very close to this. It may be a tad darker, but not nearly the difference between it and Reseda. I got samples of each and bought a bottle of Marine. Eventually I'll try to post a scan.

Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.

Depending on the pen and the nib, Caribbean Sea and Steel Blue are very, very close. Steel Blue has a hint more green. Sorry I don't have a camera at hand to post a comparison. Perhaps someone else will do so.
