Shortlist of candidates for an order of 3 bottles of Pilot Iroshizuku ink
Seeing as a local stockist has 50ml bottles of Iroshizuku Tsukushi ink again, I was pretty sure I want to get a ‘spare’ bottle on account of it supposedly being discontinued by Pilot. However, it takes the price of three 50ml bottles to get free shipping, so I did this to help me decide what else to get.
…
I just can't make Tsukushi show its range of hues on any of the types of paper I normally use. There is a little bit of green sheen where the ink is wettest (e.g. dots in the minuscules i and j) on Rhodia DotPad 80g/m² paper — which I only use for testing, and not any other practical or everyday purpose — but in Paperblanks and Peter Pauper Press journals that is largely absent. The apparent reddish brown colour on most of those papers is boring; on Paperblanks 100gsm paper it renders as a mottled brown-pink, which is nice, but unfortunately that paper well exhibit bleed-through with most inks, as long as the ink marks are not exceedingly dry.
So, Tsukushi is now off my shortlist.
