Advent calendar enclosures picked up from TK Maxx

A Smug Dill

Given that the closest TK Maxx store is right above the hall where we often shop for fresh produce on weekends, from time to time I'd pop in beforehand and check the range of European paper products in stock, mostly just to “report” if there is anything typically sought after by hobbyists active in online forums, but I personally still hope to pick up a Leuchtturm1917 120G Edition journal cheaply to test the paper.

No such luck (again) this weekend, but I found and bought these discounted Advent calendar enclosures. These are just made of cardboard with colourful paper glued on top of that. I haven't seen these in TK Maxx before, either prior to or after last Christmas, although I have seen wooden ones (for a very short time, back in October) and was wondering if they'd be available at clearance prices after Christmas.

They are still in fairly good nick, so for AUD $7 (which works out to US$4.35 just now) apiece including 10% tax, I snapped up both available units. That's certainly cheaper than ordering reusable Advent calendars of any type on AliExpress or Taobao, once shipping of these bulky items are taken into account.
