Hard to see if I got the name of the quoter correct. I see Charles Baudelaire. My response:  If life is love -- love is life. So, to live, one might add this ingredient to their recipe:  "You gotta give a little -- live a little -- to get a little. ... That's the story of love." Unknown author of a song heard as a kid.

 

This is my answer to a fav shuffle dance, once disco hit, Haddaway's, "What Is Love?" The older version with the guy dancing on roof of a commercial building wearing Sinatra type hat.
