A selection of my Platinum fountain pens fitted with gold nibs (June 2024)

A Smug Dill

Not shown are my wife's Platinum pens; assorted discontinued pens such as a PTL-5000A, a PB-2500, and a vintage pocket pen, that I use from time to time; and some new-in-box pens I have little interest in using (but certainly not because they're limited edition and I hope they'll go up in market value, nothing like that). As it is, I have yet to ink up the four pens that still have plastic tags on their clips, the three Star Wars limited edition pens sitting between them, and the ‘Shape of a Heart’. The Laurel Green and the Silhouette have only been dip-tested, and the ‘The Prime’ and the Oshino have each seen one fill of ink, since I find I have little actual use or need for a Broad nib or a Soft Medium nib when a ‘fude’ (or ‘art’, or otherwise upturned) nib or a ‘long knife’ nib already gives me all the wide lines I may want for drawing or big bold ‘special effects’ in writing.
