This picture shows the variation in the colours of the cellulose-acetate stripes on my brown tortoise.
The ones around the other side of the pen are almost uniformly dark brown.


This variability makes each brown tortoise unique and, in my mind at least, the irregularities in the colours of the stripes add to their beauty.

This pen is not from the early 1980s, it is from the early 1990s!
