Pilot Plumix (European) packaging rear - with nib grades’ nominal widths marked.jpeg

Mercian

The back of the point-of-sale packaging for my European-market Pilot Plumix ‘F’.

I am delighted by the fact that Pilot actually listed the nominal measured widths of its different grades of Plumix nib.

For any non-francophones:

’Extra-fin’ = ‘Extra Fine’ = ‘EF’ en anglais;

’Fin’ = ‘Fine’;

’Moyen’ = ‘Medium’;

’Large’ = ‘Broad’;

’Extra-large’ = ‘Extra Broad’ = ‘BB’.

Ok, so the word ‘large’ en français actually means ‘wide’ in English.

But in the context of nib-grades its equivalent term is ‘Broad’.
