It's a second hand Grance that's on its way to me - I expect to receive it today. I scanned through all the photos that Google Images returns from a search on "Pilot Grance" (unquoted) and I saw only one fountain pen in this finish, which is on a Philippine classified ads site, sold. 

 

I will likely make a new post on it soon to see if anyone has any information on it.

So, I figured out the model number - FGN-2MR - and, from what I can tell, I suspect it was a model only intended for the Japanese market. It was also available in grey, red, and green. All of them have the same rhodium-plated fluted barrel, trim, and 14k nib, i.e. only the colored parts of the cap and section differ. This photo shows the acrylic (presumably) cap, which is pearlescent and sort-of marbled: 

 

Pilot currently sells a similar looking version but in sterling and with a cap that is fluted like the barrel but does not have a ball clip - the sterling version looks to be available worldwide.

My particular pen has FM size nib.
