Montblanc Mozart FP's

Hi,

Anyone using this MB model? I have a ballpoint version of the Mozart and use it as a portable pocket pen for quick short notes.

My question to Montblanc users is if the FP model can be fitted with a converter filler?

Thanks

I think the Mozart only accepts cartridges but you can check in their website.

I've tried the mini converters and they don't work - they fit the nib section, but the barrel is not long enough to accomodate them. If you are concerned you could get a cartridge filler kit from The Write Fill as I did (not connected just think it's a great idea).

You can fit some of the mini converters in the Mozart with a bit of trimming. The one I used was a Monteverde (I think) and all that was needed was to trim the small bump at the end of the converter handle, the bit your to use to grip the plunger by. Trim down the diameter to fit into the end of the barrel and your good to go. I'll try to post a pic if I can figure out how to do it.

I want to see this as well. Do you suggest a source in the USA for the Monteverde converter?

I have one of these precious little babies with a sterling silver cap and it only takes cartridges. I couldn't pass it up so I didn't care what it took! I love this little pen! :)

Pendemonium is where I bought this same converter that I use in my Starwalker.

I've got one of these and I'll try it. It would not fit my Greta Garbo as it won't fit into the section - the section that fits into the nib is too think with the gold metal on it. However I'll try it with my Mozart and let you know.

what about the Tryphon squeeze mini-converter? It is not much longer than a cartridge, so may fit.

Have tried this now and it won't fit - it's too wide where the metal section starts.

The only comment I would make on the modified converter is that it holds considerably less than a standard cartridge. I've just been examining my converter and cartridges and didn't realise how much smaller it is - after all it has to house the 'plunger' which a cartridge doesn't have to do. I've just taken delivery of a filling syringe from The Write Fill so I will have a go with that. Would probably just stick to cartridges when travelling for ease of use.

I've just bought some visconti cartridges to try from The Writing Desk and they come in a great round plastic container which would be ideal for travelling and can be refilled - they hold six cartridges - which I guess is fine for the average trip - if you need more you could buy another set. I think they also do Herbin cartridges which come in a similar metal container.

Hope this helps.
