Syringes

Hey everyone,

I'm sure this has been asked before...sorry.

I'm looking for a place online that sells cheap blunt syringes suitable for refilling carts. Preferably in quantity of one.

Also,

What stores in Canada, (ontario) would sell these?

Regards

Lee Valley Tools sells syringes for injecting glue into loose furniture joints. However, there may be places that are a lot cheaper.

I bought three syringes, priced individually below $.25 at walmart. The needle threads on and off easily. I've found the needle helpful in rinsing and filling cartridges.

I just went to the pharmacy at the local walmart and said I wanted to buy a few syringes. They were happy to oblige.

Sorry, but I don't know of an online source, but I have no doubt there are a bunch.

Good Luck,

Mike

I went to the pharmacy counter at Shoppers Drug Mart and asked if they had "an allergy syringe". I was asked what I wanted it for and when I explained the assistant simply reached under the counter and handed me a syringe, free of charge. I suspect the point is sharp, so I am very careful.

They do give you a funny look until you explain don't they :)

They really do! When I got the syringe the lady had an amused look that make me think that story was repeated afterward :roflmho:

If you have a pet, you can get one at your next vet visit. I got a 5ml that was for my dog's medicine.

I bought a set of 4... with some nice narrow extensions (like a needle, 3 inch long, handy cause you can enter the needle inside the cartridge/converter to fill it up)... alltogether for just 1 usd! Bought it in a computer mall in Hong Kong.

(they are selling these things for computer printer cartridges or something) they work wonderfull. Inexpensive and great!!!)

You can buy them cheap off fleabay! You can also purchase them from computer printer cartridge refill shops, from any pharmacy if you tell them why and also if you go to pet shops, a lot of medicines come with a syringe and plastic delivery "needle" suitable for filling.

Personally I`d fleabay it, get exactly what you want.

The vet supplied me with a couple. I also remember someone selling them in bulk on FPN. Was over a year ago though.

As someone has mentioned (somewhere -- I forgot), Amazon.com:

These aren't sold in quantities of one, but, then again, a lot of syrnges are supposed to be one shot items and they wear out. It's also nice to have multiple syringes when you are dealing with multiple colors (e.g., mixing).

Hobby shops that sell aero-modelling kits, RC cars and other hobby stuff generally carry them. Aroundhere they cala them "glue syringes". Cost about $1.50 ( US$)

Get mine free from the pharmacy next door.

Me too.

If you live in a place with a lot of junkies and/or weird pharmacists, show them your pen. At the Walmart pharmacy by my office the guy gets all happy to see me. Gives me a couple each time. Never had a problem, having bought (for $0.25) or been given for free syringes at 4 or 5 pharmacies.

One bit of advice - these needles are VERY sharp. Take a Dremel cutting disc and use it to push against the tip of the needle to grind it flat. You'll thank yourself if you should ever manage to hit yourself with the end.

I'd do that with the Binderised XXXXF VP nib that tattooed me, but I also like to write with it....

Picked mine up off the street, lying in the gutter. Literally. It's surely full of AIDS and meth, so I haven't gone into the tattoo biz yet, I'll wait until I rinse it out first. I'm told that iron gall ink kills pens, so it probably kills AIDS too. I'll give that a try ...

... and if not, I'll just put it back on the streetcorner where I found it!

Not all pharmacies will sell them like that, and in some places it's illegal. The blunts are a lot better than the hypodermics. The on line sellers I know sell in lots of 50 or 100 each, but they're very good needles.

While HIV is a pretty fragile retrovirus Hepatitis B is quite robust. There's no guarantee that simple soap will destroy it if it's on that syringe. I'd throw that thing away and wash my hands with something strong, and then immerse my hands in some isopropyl alcohol if I'd touched that thing.
