Visconti Green

I noticed thismorning that Visconti green was on the list of ink reviews wanted, and that I had a rather elegant champagne glass shaped bottle of it sitting on my desk, so here it is.

Thanks for the handwritten review and the sample of nice handwriting! The shading is nice. On my monitor, the color looks bluer than Noodler's Gruene Cactus and less blue than either Levenger Gemstone Green or the new Sheaffer Skrip Green.

Dear Paul,

Thank you very much for the ink review and the lovely hand-writing! I have just purchased a Visconti Opera Master in amber....can't wait for it to arrive! Now, I must go ink-hunting :)

Regards,

Soki

Now, this is a green I like! I've looked at other Visconti inks on websites and I have to say they all seem rather disappointing except for the Sepia (which I have and love) and this green (which looks good). I'm waiting to test out a sample of their burgundy which I just bought from Pear Tree :)

Dear Paul,

After reading your handwritten review, I felt inspired to purchase some of this beautiful ink. I have to say that I am extremely happy with the color. It is beginning to become my favorite ink.

However, I did notice that my bottle was only filled to the mark where the main body of the bottle meets the 'shoulder'. I brought this up with Pendemonium and they said that it was due to 'evaporation through the plastic'. Just wondering if you have come across this problem.

Thanks for the wonderful review!

Regards,

Soki

Have you tried Private Reserve Ebony Green? Very dark... almost appears Black on some papers. Thanks for the review... and love the comments about the aroma! I thought I had settled on a few favorite inks, but now you've added to my compulsive search!

On my monitor, the Visconti Green seems very close to Pelikan 4001 Green in colour. Do others see it that way (or is it my monitor?)?

Wonderful review!

I just ordered a bottle of this ink today, as I read another comment before about the green/blue aspect and shading.

Can't wait to get it!! :bunny01:

Visconti is more saturated and has more blue in it, and has that "ping" factor that Visconti blue does. Pelikan green is lovely, very lovely, but doesn't have that "ping", and is a bit lighter. I like them both.

I haven't considered this color as there hasn't been a proper review of it yet. However, this is now high on my to buy list. I love really vibrant greens and there's no mistaking this one. Thanks for taking the time to review this wonderful ink.

I'm not sure if it's just my pen (I've noticed that my Decimo seems to really lighten inks; dunno why), but my ink is far more blue than the scan. At first I was disappointed, because I really wanted a beautiful green ink, but then I realized that it was the most gorgeous ocean blue that I'd ever seen. It's my favorite ink, and I'm mildly addicted to it, but it isn't the green I expected.

I'll try to get a picture up posting the difference, and in the meantime, I'll try the ink in a different pen and see what happens. I wonder if it'll be greener...

I bought some of this, due to this review. The ink I bought is more blue than what shows on my monitor in this review, as well. I'm still ambivalent about the color. I was hoping to like it as much as I like Visconti blue. Who knows, I may come back to it, and find I like it very much.
