Vintage Lever-fill Waterman

This may not be the best place to ask, but I have a (I think) 1920s Waterman lever fill pen in a rather lovely lizard skin finish that I would like to sell. It is, to my uneducated eye, in good nick, and it definitely works (I have used it). I attach a picture. I think it is a '92' - it has the number 92 pressed into the end of the barrel. Does anyone have the foggiest what I should ask (preferably in UK£)? Any help gratefully accepted. I want to sell it so that I can buy another pen I have an eye on ...

Oh yes, and I should probably add, that if anyone conceives an overwhelming desire for it, do please let me know, and feel free to make an offer ...

Hello, I have no idea what the pen is worth, but it sure looks nice. If you're really interested in selling it I'd suggest posting it on eBay. Set a reserve below which you won't go and see what people are willing to bid. eBay and similar auction sites really do give you a good idea of what the market for any given item is and will get you the best price most of the time. That said, I'd be willing to pay $40 US for the pen. If that sounds good to you let me know.

and it definitely works (I have used it)

Does it fill and empty properly? Does it write properly if/when filled? If it doesn't, it doesn't work. A smooth-writing nib is only half the package.

It does fill and empty properly. Beautifully in fact. The nib is quite fine and sort of flexible. It has no scratches and the gold bits are clean and still gold. It is my only vintage pen; I bought it to see if I got on with 'vintage', and although it works fine, I have decided that I prefer new shiny shiny pens. I am probably shallow.

Having said that, I have to admit I paid a fair amount for this (UK pen prices!), so I was hoping to be able to get around £100 (less than I paid - so perhaps I was done! ). If it isn't worth that, then I shall probably keep it and learn to love it. But thanks for the offers and thanks for the help everyone. Much appreciated! :)

I'm not familiar with the model (though the 2 barrel bands reminds me of the 100-Year Pen) so I can't give a price estimate.

Pretty pen though ...

That's one of the less common colors for the 92. I'd ignore lowball offers, and get at least what you paid out of it.

I don't know the going price of these either, but I suspect Hirsh is correct - that is not a common color and I would not let it got for less than $100 US - probably more.

As for the date - I think the first Celluloid Waterman 94/92s did not come out until 1929. That celluloid pattern has a mid-30s look to it - so 1930s rather than 1920s.
