New Demonstrator: Tramol

Looks similar to a pen suiyi2005 on Instagram teased a while back.

 

Does anyone know more?

After a brief search on Taobao, this is what I found and think to be accurate: Tramol is a brand that mainly does their own lines of ink, but they do have a few pen models that are mostly rebranded oem products with slight variations, none of which have specific model numbers to refer to. This new eyedropper demonstrator looks to be their latest offering, and while it does feel somewhat similar in aesthetic to the Opus (black trim & matte finish), is still a rather original design. Nib looks to be just a typical chinese number 5 nib with their brand "Tramol" stamped above "Iridium Point".

They had been around for years ; their ink is quite good quality though nothing fancy. Their pens generally are just re branded OEM so all in all usually do not excite

Did you mean the company or this particular model has been around by years?

The model looks very similar to an Opus 88 at a glance. I know that Opus 88 is also an OEM brand before using the Opus 88 name, so might this be the same case?

I mean the company and their inks , the pens are relatively new say less than 2 years

OK I just got mine, and it's a pretty one! Looks like a smaller Opus 88 demo (without inki-dome). It has some kind of nondescript #5 IPG nib, but I might put a vintage nib or Delike mini fude on it. Only issue is that it doesn't post (securely).

Let us know if the delike mini bent nib fits. That is an awesome nib that unfortunately for not fit good bodies. Let us know too if this pen comes with o-rings and burps.

well I wager from an Ink Mfr, they got to have pens that show off the contents. sounds a decent offering though I am not thrilled with yet another demonstrator

I have a #5 nib that I might like to swap in but need to know whether it will fit

I'd say it's a #5. Here is it next to a Jowo #5:

It seemed like a good fit. Feed seemed almost a tad too long though. Delike nibs are a bit short.

 

I can definitely recommend the Sailor nib combo though. Getting another one with a Sailor zoom now.

I bought a Tramol in the frosted model off eBay a couple of months ago. I tried inking it up for the first time this week with some Hero Ink (blue # 233) using the converter that came with the pen, which can also be used without the converter as an eyedropper.

 

I found the pen was writing too dry and suspected that it was either the nib or the feed that was to blame, so I decided to try replacing the stock nib. I have a bunch of #5 nibs in my collection and tried to fit a couple of them, but the nibs were just a bit too large to go in easily, and I did not want to use too much force, so finally I tried a medium #5 Hero nib that I had lying around. The Hero nib fit, and was a pretty easy replacement. The pen is writing really nicely now. The stock feed is providing plenty of ink to the medium nib.

 

I like the look of the pen with the black accents on the clip and the branding mark, and the frosted translucent plastic seems to be good quality. The cap will post, but only begrudgingly and it feels slightly awkward and not balanced, so it does not seem that the cap was really designed to post. Given the pen's smaller size, I would prefer a smooth posting cap, but that is my only complaint (other than the stingy nib).
