Conid Kingsize K Dcb Db Ft Ti

Michael R.

Recommended Posts

On Saturday, Sept. 28th no other than mastermind and inventor of the bulkfiller fountainbel himself delivered my Conid Kingsize K DCB DB FT TI to the Tilburg Pen Show.

While I alreday own a Conid First Production Run (Regular) since 2012 the Kingsize sets a new standard when it comes to perfectly fit pens.

I had a great chat with Francis and happily walked away with my newly acquired treasure. Many thanks Francis for your time.

Yesterday I took some photographs to begin with after filling the pen with Diamine Apple Glory.

I'll let them speak for themselves for the moment...

Terrific pictures and a terrific pen.

I somehow managed to buy three Conid pens and none have the Conid engraving on the nib. Hopefully the next one will have it.

Can you say something about the difference between a Regular and the Kingsize, as far as "perfection" is concerned?

Thank you for all of your nice comments!

I don't own a current respectively regular production Regular. Mine is a First Production Run pen from 2012 and the Kingsize just feels totally like it is milled from a single piece of matter.

The First Production Run is already very well made but the Kingsize really sets a reference.

Maybe I should compare it to a current production Regular. My friend is thinking about getting one for herself at the moment.

Cheers

@ Michael: I'm thinking about that too; that's why I asked. But thanks for your answer!

Nice pen. Enjoy it :)

My regular bulk filler with the steel nib is a big favourite, bought from CONID when they attended the LWES show a few years back. Nib tuned to perfection by Johann. I also have a Minimalistica with a MB146 nib in it, which whilst nice is not on a par.

I have a minimalistica in delrin, a regular cappuccino, and a Kingsize blue pearl. The first two have Titanium nibs and the kingsize has a gold nib.

The Minimalistica is the next one I'd like to get. What do you dislike about it?

That's a nice collection! I love the colored Conids also.

I have four kingsize and plan to get two more. They are the stars of my collection.

Wow! Different nibs and different models?

Cheers

I have six Conids 2 kingsize and 4 Regulars. All are slightly different, Three of them (1 kingsize and 2 regulars) are Ebonite caps and barrels. All wear Titanium Broad stubs. only one has an engraved clip (my first, a Kingsize).

Different models, two different nibs. I've got most limited and special editions. Different nibs used to be fun but now pens are tools and I used them all day long.

The pen itself is of good build quality as with other CONIDs and works very well. Size is also great. The nib slip on and off is a bit fiddly. and the screw on of the bulk filler is much better. Ironically the bit I dislike most is the MB nib!

I just tried to send you a PM but unfortunately you cannot receive new messages! :)

Great pictures. Enjoy your CONID.

I have two of them and they are both in the daily routine.

There are more things in heaven and earth, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

I like how you can customize those! I have medium italic nib on my First Production Run. A broad stub would be interesting to try!

That's something which can be changed easily ;-)

Oh yes, sorry about the PM. I just did clean up a little bit!

Cheers
