First, welcome to our little corner of the universe from a pen user in San Diego. Secondly, can you tell us what is says on the nib? My first impression is that this is a very pretty but not expensive Chinese pen. I hope I am wrong. Please also post a photo of the filling mechanism as that will help identify it.

Welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell. The guess above is most likely correct, an inexpensive Chinese pen with absolutely no connection to Germany. The terms Iridium Point Germany (IPG) have become totally meaningless but once, long long ago and in a land far far away, it meant that the platinum family tipping on the nib came from Germany.

 

It might be a good writer though; many are.
