Jetstream Refill In Lamy Swift Body

Hi, I'm hoping someone here might be able to help.

I love the Uni Jetstream 0.38 refill, but I don't love the pen bodies available from Uni. I've so far been able to use the Jetstream refill in a Lamy Tipo without problems (no modifications needed) and recently got myself a Lamy Swift, thinking I could likewise just drop the refill in and go, as both Swift and Tipo use the Lamy M66 rollerball refill.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case. The refill fits in the barrel, but the knock doesn't engage.

So far, I've tried covering the hole at the back of the Jetstream refill with a bit of rubber, and likewise putting a bit of rubber around the barrel at the level where the M66 narrows, as the Jetstream is thinner there. Neither of these, alone or in combination, have worked, and I'm out of ideas.

Anyone have any advice?

Yes, it seems that Jetstream refills are a bit too long, so you will need to cut about 3-4 mm from the back of Jet refill.

But be careful, if you cut too much you cannot undo it.

Read some more info here:

Also here, not necessarily related:

As alternative, the Uni Jetstream refills will work without any alteration in Pentel EnerGel Alloy RT Premium, a very sturdy pen:

This is a slightly different solution to your problem, but certainly an interesting idea. On Shapeways.com, a vendor named "Tofty's Flashlights and Pens" offers a 3D printed adapter that lets you use a D1 (mini) refill in pens that use the Lamy M66. The UNI Jetstream SXR-200-05 or -07 is about the best D1 refill available, and this adapter should give you the UNI Jetstream experience in your Lamy pen.

I have used Tofty's adapters in other pens and he has done a very good job of duplicating the required shape. He has a wide array of adapters for ballpoints and rollerballs. His Lamy M66 adapter sells for $6 and seems well worth the cost.

Here's a link to his Lamy M66 adapter:
